LIONPACK Safety Info BannerLIONPACKLithium Ion Batteries

Thank you for purchasing our Lionpack Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. By purchasing this product, the buyer/user agrees thathe/she hasread and understood the safety precautions printed in this document, that he/shebares full responsibilities of these risks, and does not hold ZOHD,itsdistributors, oritsretailers responsible for any accidents, injury to persons, or property damage that may occur.

Damage from misuse or modifications will void your warranty and can cause serious injury.
General Safety Guidelines
1) NEVER    use a NiCd/NiMHcharger to chargeLi-ion/LiPobatteries. Use a charger designed for chargeLiPo/Li-ion batteriesonly.
2) ALWAYS inspect the battery to ensure there are no signs of damage, deformity, or swelling before charging. If there are,do not continue charging the battery, and follow the proper procedures to dispose of the battery
3) ALWAYS charge batteries in a fireproof container and away from combustible material. Do not charge on surfaces that can catch fire –this includes: wood, cloth, carpet, or inside the plane.
4) NEVER   charge batteries unattended. Always remain in constant observation of the charging process & react to potential problems that may occur
5) NEVER    charge a deformed, swollen or ballooned battery.

Continuing to charge a battery that hasbegun to swell will result in a fire.

Follow these steps:

1. STOP the charging process by unplugging the charger, anddisconnect the battery from it immediately
2. Disconnect battery from the device immediately.
3. Place it in an open non-flammable area.
4. Watch it for approx. 30 minutes from a safe distance.
5. Follow proper procedure to dispose of battery
6)  NEVER allow the battery’s positive and negative leads to touch. This can cause the batteries to short and lead to fire!
7)  If for any reason you need to cut the terminal wiresof an assembled Li-ion battery pack, it will be necessary to cut each wire separately, ensuring the wires to not touch each other or a short may occur.
8)  StoreLi-ionbatteries inacool, dry place between 40-80° F.
9)  NEVERstoreLi-ion batteries in any locations that can exceed these temperatures such as a vehicle, garage, or in the sun.
10) Keepy our batteries out of reach of children and pets.

Avoid Over-DischargingLi-ion Batteries:

Over-discharging a Li-ion Battery,or continuing to use the battery even after it isfully depleted (e.g. when it isbelow its minimum voltage level),can cause permanent damage to your battery. While you’re not able to visibly detect the internal damage to the battery,it can eventually causea fire when attempting to re-charge at a later time.Additional Notes:SomeLi-ion chargersin the market may contain insufficient or incorrect information regarding the battery packs they are designed for. It istheuser’s responsibility toensurethat the charger purchased is compatible with ZOHD batteries.
Battery Maintenance & Handling
• Never dissemble existingLi-ion batterypacks to mix with otherLi-ion cells/packs.
• Only charge your Li-ion battery with agood quality, dedicated Li-ion/LiPocharger.Apoor quality chargermay not be able to charge or protect your battery properly, and can bedangerous.
• Do not discharge battery to a level below 2.5V per cell under load. Deep discharge below 2.5V per cell can deteriorate battery performance.
• Let battery cool down to ambient temperature before charging.Storage & TransportationNever store batteries near an open flame or heater.
• Store battery at room temperature for best results.
• Do not expose battery pack to direct sunlight (heat) for extended periods of time.
• For long term storage, do not store them fully charged; it is recommended to fully charge and then discharge it to 50-60% of their capacity.
Battery Life & Disposal of LiPo BatteriesRechargeable Li-ion/LiPo batteries do not last indefinitely. Batteries that have lost 20% of their initial capacity should be removed from service and disposed of properly. If at any time you detect any physical damage to aLi-ion battery such as swollen cell, split, battery leak, or tear in thefoil covering, STOP and do not continue discharging the battery.
Proper Disposal ofLi-ion/LiPo Batteries:
Regulations and laws pertaining to the recycling and disposal ofLi-ion/LiPobatteries vary from country to country as well as by state and local governments. Youshouldcheck the laws and regulations where you live. There are a number of facilities that recycleLi-ion/LiPobatteries. The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation's web site,www.rbrc.org, is an excellent source for finding a facility to handle these types of batteries. If you are not sure if your waste facility can handleLi-ion/LiPobatteries, contact them and verify if they are permitted or not.Remember that before any type ofdisposal the batteries should be discharged completely. Tape the contacts with electrical tape and package so as to prevent contacts accidentally coming together at any time. For home disposal, many stores offer free recycling of rechargeable batteries. Ifno outlet is available
in your area, it is safe to dispose of these batteries in your regular trash. As always, check with your local laws to make sure that this is acceptable.
