The Dominator HD3 is the newest FPV video goggle in the Dominator HD series from Fat Shark . These video goggles allow for first-person viewing (FPV) of the video downlink from the wireless transmitter on your RC aircraft for a truly immersive flying experience.

The FOV on the HD3 has been dialed back to 42 degrees to maintain a large screen experience while delivering crisp optical performance for OSD readability. Digital pilots will appreciate the new 16:9 display format when in HDMI mode to match the display aspect ratio of HD systems.  HD3 ships with new lower profile Velcro backed (removable) faceplate foam for a more accommodating fit.  The HD3 is the most powerful, versatile and portable FPV goggle and the top choice of drone pilots.

  1. Very good but very expensive review by Alex on 5/10/2017

I really like these goggles. They have a very clear picture and they are high quality. They have a small field of view, but that's just compared to the HD2s I've been using. I would recommend these if your model has an OSD, since the smaller Fov lets you see it better than the HD2. It also has adjustible IPD, which is nice. The things that I don't like are that they are kind of expensive for what you get. They seem just like a headset with screens, probably the super high tech optics add to the price. Also, the DVR is crap, but that's the same for all Fatsharks unfortunately. Anyways, this is probably the best goggle you can get right now. I recommend you try these.

  2. Mixed Feelings review by AJ Bravo on 3/26/2017

While I like the HD3's, they are awfully expensive for what you get. I've tried the attitudes, headplays and now the HD3's. While the image quality is better on the headplays, the HD3's have a better FOV, are more portable, can be upgraded to diversity. and are 4:3 format. All of which are more important to me, so it's a trade-off. It's just a bitter pill for the price.

Also like many the IPD does not go narrow enough for me. It's super close, but not quite there. (I could use just another mm or two closer on each eye.)

  3. What an upgrade!!! review by Ben on 3/9/2017

These are an amazing upgrade coming from the teleporter V5. The OSD in Liftoff is a bit blurry for me but are probably from my eyes. If you have the money do it you won't regret it!

  4. They're absolutely perfect...... review by Bootsie collins on 2/9/2017

Bought these from Getfpv because i felt like they would have a good set, and they did not disappoint me. Could not be happier about my decision. Getfpv got them here quick and in a hurry. The quality of these goggles have made me a believer in Fatshark products. I was using a HMD for my flying goggles but was never very happy with the way they felt while wearing them. Not to mention the clarity or the lack thereof...... I would buy these another hundred times, if i had the need to do so. I just could not be happier with them or Getfpv. If you're looking for a pair of these when they're back instock buy them here, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Getfpv.

  5. Nice upgrade review by Todd on 12/2/2016

Upgraded from the dominator v2's and have to say these new HD3's are nice. There is a little adjusting to get it just right, but when you do it's an awesome picture.

I have a narrower face and think the face plate could use a thicker foam band. Could probably glue the two included foams together and would be good but havent tried it yet.

    Definitely recommend these!

  6. Great FPV Goggles Much Improved and so so Close! review by NiteShadow on 11/15/2016

Let's start off with some back ground. I had the first model of Fat Shark's that they made. Then when the Dominator HD's came out I bought those and loved the big FOV and the picture clarity with a couple of snags. First even though they had the adjustable IPD even after adjusting them all the way in, the middle and edges would still be blurry and obviously that made it hard to fly. Second was fogging up, which they fixed once they released the fan faceplates. Seeing that they didn't fix the problem with the blur in the Dominator HD 2 I chose not to throw down another $500 dollars. Now with the HD 3 they supposedly fixed this issue... they are so so so so close. For me even once again adjusting the IPD all the way to the center it is just barely blurry in the center and on the edges. Definitely a big improvement over the HD 1 but I was hoping for a completely clear screen. I am going to try the lense inserts even though I don't wear glasses to see if that will help.

Now for the good. I love what Fat Shark has done with their new batteries! Anyone who has owned a pair of Fat Sharks in the past will know that the old batteries without the LED indicators always barely stayed in the band, so it made it kind of awkward. These new batteries literally fit like a glove and you don't have to worry about them sliding out!

The 42 FOV isn't as wide as the 50 but still looks good and as I was flying I didn't really notice a difference so over all that is good.

They curved the goggles in more which you can't really notice but they do feel better and more secure.

Overall I would recommend these as a good pair of FPV goggles definitely improved! I just wish the IPD would go in a smidge more but not all people have that problem and hopefully some lens inserts will fix it.

My opinion is if you are looking for a good pair of FPV goggles you can't go wrong with these. Yes they are expensive and some people wish they would have added other features like HDMI dvr but I only use these for FPV so that doesn't bother me and the picture quality is overall worth it. As always Fat Shark has made another solid product.

I switched from the Headplay goggles to these and I could not be more pleased! The picture is very crisp and the functionality is excellent. These are definitely the best goggles I have used.

  8. Pretty Blurry review by James on 11/10/2016

Well I had high hopes for the HD3 but I cant get the blurry edges out without modifying and I wont go down that road. I need a narrower IPD

For the price these really need to come as a custom fit mold-able shell instead of Fatsharks generic shells.

Now spending more money on diopters to see if that helps
