Details

Designed for and named after one of the top FPV pilots in the world, the new Lumenier QAV210 CHARPU Carbon Fiber FPV Quadcopter airframe is CHARPU's new go to frame for acrobatic FPV sessions. The QAV210 CHARPU is an extended version of the new QAV180, Lumenier's smallest FPV quad kit to date. The QAV210 CHARPU is designed to be the smallest possible airframe while comfortably supporting 5" props and 220X size motors. The assembled kit containing Carbon Fiber Plates, Power Distribution Board and all hardware weighs in at only 91g. The included, but optional landing gear adds another 5g.

Like it's popular 'big brother', the Lumenier QAV250, the QAV210 CHARPU utilizes high quality 3K carbon fiber that is precision machined for a superb fit-and-finish. The QAV210 CHARPU is an awesome FPV racer and acrobat. The frame is designed to mount a mini 26mm FPV camera like the Lumenier CM-650 at a range of angles. Alternatively, the frame also includes a mounting plate to mount standard 32mm board cameras at a fixed 20 degree angle.

The airframe is designed to support both 3s or 4s lipo setups and can comfortably carry 1000mah and 1300mah lipos.

Features

  • Full 3K Carbon Fiber airframe featuring a solid 3mm thick "Unibody" main plate.
  • Multiple motor mounting holes to fit a variety of motors (M3 and M2 screw mounting patterns).
  • "Bumpers" on the end of the arms to protect the motor during a crash, just like the QAV250.
  • Flight controller cover plate includes cutouts for SMA connector and video transmitter as well as a holder for the included XT-60 Lipo pig-tail.
  • Included Lumenier 4Power power distribution board and XT-60 Pig-Tail to power ESCs and FPV flight electronics. The PDB can optionally be outfitted with a Pololu 12v or 5v voltage step-down (Pololu board not included).
  • Easy Lipo Access (suggested Lipo is a 1300mah 3 or 4s)
  • Support for 32mm board cams as well as 26mm cams in cases such as the Lumenier CM-650.
  • Support to carry HD camera (such as the GoPro 4, Mobius, or GoPro Session) with optional camera vibration mount (not included)
  • Included Landing Gear

Weight

  • Airframe: 91g (with PDB and hardware), 96g with included Landing Gear.
  • AUW: The QAV210 is flown with an AUW of 256-281g depending on motor choice (includes all flight electronics and FPV gear, but without Lipo or HD camera).

Optional HD Vibration Mount

The QAV210 CHARPU does not exhibit any vibration in the on-board FPV camera signal. For pilots that wish to equip their QAV210 CHARPU with a Mobius, GoPro or GoPro Session, Lumenier offers a vibration isolation camera mounting kit.

Includes

  • 1x QAV210 CHARPU carbon fiber airframe, board camera mount, 26mm camera mount, and hardware (including 35mm frame spacers)
  • 1x Lumenier 4Power Power distribution board + set of 6mm stand offs
  • 1x XT-60 Pig-Tail and silicone grommet
  • 1x set of 10mm aluminum landing gear and vinyl feet
  • 4" Anti-Vibration neoprene tape
  • 1x Lumenier lipo strap

This frame is just awesome, it's very durable, the frame has survived multiple crashes. I love the design of it, you can easily mount the battery and GoPro on top, with room to spare. Also there's an upgraded main frame that you can it's 4mm instead of 3mm.

this was my first true FPV quad in a 5". I have had a few other frames since this, but I keep coming back to this one and rebuilding it with newer technology gear to keep it fresh! Its well made and flies awesome. The 210 size fits 5" props nicely and the interior is 'roomy' to fit all your components

  4. Complete, quality FPV frame kit review by Nicholas on 7/8/2016

Ive had a handful of frames over the last 6 months, some cheap, some knockoffs, and some quality ones. This kit by far is the most well put together, finished, and complete frame kit ive purchased so far.
Most everyone starts on a cheap frame, I get it, I loved my ZMR, I loved my FPVmodel ZMR-X210(Alienish clone), but nothing so far has compared to the two QAV210 kits Ive purchased over the last 2 builds.
    Pros
    - Theyre light, like really light. Complete FPV builds are dry around 340g
    - the kits include EVERYTHING. Nylon standoffs, basic PDB (no poloulu), extra hardware, silicone grommet.
    - The kit fits together with no hassle. Almost every kit ive had in the past has need sanding and shaping for the cam plates to fit together.
    - Very high quality carbon
    - Stainless hardware. (Its durable, and doesnt rust like cheaper screws (X210 im looking at you))

    Cons
    - Somewhat pricey, but not alien pricey.
    - Arms might block alot of thrust

In the end I still enjoy my 210s more than any other frame ive flown so far. Definitely a solid option.

I have the 210 & QAVR. They are both absolutely sweet. The 210 has (for the most part) been my been my "go-to" vehicle. I have the 3mm subframe and it has taken serious abuse. Couldn't be happier.

  6. My new favorite quad review by Levi on 6/4/2016

I recently bought a QAV-R, which I love, and after getting used to it, I realized I needed a backup quad that could actually compete in races, both locally and nationally. I decided the only 250 was too large, so I bought the 210, took all my gear off the 250 and put it on the 210. The 210 without battery weighs in at 220g, which is lighter than my equally configured QAV-R. This "backup" quad has quickly become my main racer. It is so fast, and handles so well that I can't stop flying it. I flew it at the IDRA west qualifier, and it deserved a better pilot than I. I would buy 10 of these if I could. LOVE IT!

  7. Great frame. Durable. review by Robert on 5/15/2016

This frame is great. It is light, cheap and durable. The top plate is a little on the thin side, but that is the only flaw this frame has. I have flown it many times and crashed many as well and it has taken it all pretty well. It wasn't until a couple days ago I realized just how well designed it is. My quad got run over, square on, by a a Ford Explorer. Incredibly, the only broken piece of the frame was the top plate. It blows my mind how well it stood up to a few thousand pounds rolling over the top of it...

This frame is great. I have broken it but you have really abuse it to actually break it... I wrecked this frame into concrete probably around 100 times before it broke!!! Awesome frame!!!! Very light weight!

  9. Great frame with a few flaws! review by Maverick on 4/21/2016

Overall the QAV 210 is a nice frame for freestyle or racing. Fits the 5 in props nicely with very little clearance to the standoffs of the frame. Frame kit comes stock with 3mm unibody frame, although Lumenier should start using the 4mm frame as another option in their frame kit package. I cracked the back portion of the frame after a high fall onto grass. Not very impressed with it's "crash test" performance. After switching to the 4mm frame, I fell from even a higher distance at a higher velocity, but only suffered a broken top frame. The 4mm frame is the only way to go for the QAV 210. That being said, I would rather pay for separate parts just to get the 4mm Unibody.
The top plate is a whole different story. Too many weak points, especially the rear end portion where the rear standoffs are located. This is where a lot of people have problems after a crash. I recommend Lumenier either make a thicker top plate or add more standoff locations to help support the battery weight in the event of a high speed crash.

I recommend this kit to anyone from pros to beginners for its durability, performance, and design. For it's price value, it's not worth $74 for the 3mm frame, but it will definitely be worth it for the 4mm Unibody Frame.

This better than the 250 in every way! lighter, faster, stronger, and smaller. This is the best frame for a setup with 5" props espically if your into freestyle. Well priced too! This frame has it all.

    Flies like a charm.
On mine i was unlucky i guess...the top plate broke after only two flights and not even a serious crash.
4 Stars ... 5 Stars if the top plate was stronger....

This is an amazing little frame, a smaller version of the QAV250 with a little extra features and at a nicer price point. I guess I must have gotten a second batch because it doesn't show it in the pictures but I received the 210 that has the "Lumenier" logo on the two side camera plates and it looks awesome, I love it. Very light and rigid, wouldn't expect any less from getfpv. Great price, great quality and beautiful design.

High quality strong mat carbon (not like the glossy cheep one you find in other frames with more epoxy and less carbon). The 4 mm bottom plate is stiff seems to be indestructible.

Small things makes the difference, like the little pimples at the sides of the center of the top plate, which helps you to hold it with two fingers and balance the cg (battery positioning).

The 210 is exactly what i have been waiting for... a small size quad with the ability to swing 5 inch props... After 8 flights on it so far, this is by FAR the best quad I have flown in a long time... Lumenier has done it again, and they hit it out of the park :)

  19. The New Standard for 5" Quads review by Peter on 9/29/2015

This is it. In short, this is the new standard for 5” class racing and acro quads. This is the frame that you have been demanding since the rise of FPV. I know how reviews are read sometimes, and if you take nothing more away from this review just understand that this frame is as good as it gets.
    To Elaborate….
This frame is a perfect fit for all of your FPV electronics (to include any bulky OSD that you might be inclined to include). The 210 has all of the space that you need and none of the wasted dead space that can make novice and seasoned builders alike question where to place their components for optimum balance and signal flow. The new power distribution board is an amazing creation that almost guarantees a clean build. The PDB creates a very easy to understand and common sense approach to installing and placing the various components of your system (to include a PERFECT area to place a voltage regulator). The bottom plate is almost as thick as a QAV 250 bottom plate, meaning that it will stand up to some serious abuse. The top plate is just thick enough to meet the balance of protection that your equipment needs and still being lightweight enough for your “all up weight” to be lower than any quad in your fleet. The inclusion of a power cable slot and antenna bracket on the aft section of the top plate are welcome additions to the design. I would highly recommend one of the small form factor Lumenier VTX units for this frame (I am using the Lumenier 600mW VTX), as it will give you the most efficient use of the space available to you. The camera mounting system is nothing short of totally awesome and allows for some insane tilt, allowing you almost 60 degrees of tilt range if you are using the dual plates. Now, what really got me was the price point. At $75.00, the value of this quad is unmatched. Lumenier could have charged $130.00-$150.00 for this frame (like most market competitors).
My maiden flight with this frame exceeded all of my expectations and I have no regrets retiring my beloved BlackOut Mini 5”.
This one has it all. Durability, solid construction, value, and an efficient design that guarantees a tight build. If you are still reading this, just pull the trigger, you will only regret waiting.
