About this product
The BETAFPV Lite 2.4GHz receiver is based on the ExpressLRS project, an open-source RC link for RC applications. ExpressLRS aims to achieve the best possible link performance in speed, latency, and range. This makes ExpressLRS one of the fastest RC links available while offering long-range performance.

KNOW MORE ABOUT EXPESS_LRS
ExpressLRS is an open-source RC link for RC applications. Anyone can find this project on GitHub or join the discussion in the Facebook Group.
ExpressLRS is based on Semtech LoRa SX127x or SX1280 hardware for RX and TX respectively. It aims to achieve the best possible link performance in speed, latency, and range. At 900 MHz, a maximum of 200 Hz packet rate is supported. At 2.4 GHz, a blistering 500 Hz is currently supported with a custom OpenTX build. This makes ExpressLRS one of the fastest RC links available while offering long-range performance.
More and more vendors are starting to support the ExpressLRS radio protocol in different parts, such as radio transmitters with ELRS in stock, drones with built-in ELRS receivers, and ELRS TX modules for JR bay, or Nano bay. The BETAFPV team participates in this project and provides a series of ExpressLRS components.
TOWER ANTENNA OR FLAT ANTENNA
The new lite receiver with a flat antenna features a 3mm extra-thin board and weighs only 0.53g, which requires less assembly space on drones with limited space. The solid flat antenna, without irregular parts, can also withstand crashes, making the receiver less fragile.
Whether using a tower or flat antenna, both versions perform well in control, range, and stability, providing a good flight experience for pilots. Below is a chart showing the basic information for both antennas. It shows that both antennas have almost the same performance in gain. However, the efficiency of the flat antenna is better than that of the tower antenna. Nevertheless, the tower and flat antenna V1.1 can reach about 600 meters under equal conditions.
CONFIGURATION & BIND
ExpressLRS uses the Crossfire serial protocol (CRSF protocol) to communicate between the receiver and the flight controller board. Therefore, make sure your flight controller board supports the CRSF serial protocol. Next, we will use a flight controller with Betaflight firmware to demonstrate how to set up the CRSF protocol.
The connection between the ELRS Lite receiver and the FC board is shown below. Enable the corresponding UART (e.g., UART3 below) as a Serial Rx on the Betaflight Configurator "Ports" tab. On the "Configuration" tab, select "Serial-based receiver" in the "Receiver" panel, and choose "CRSF" as the protocol. Telemetry is optional here and will reduce your stick update rate due to those transmit slots used for telemetry.
The Lite receiver comes with the officially released major version V2.0.0 protocol and no Binding Phrase included. The Lite receiver can enter binding status by powering on/off three times.
To bind the Lite receiver:
1. Plug and unplug the Lite receiver three times.
2. Ensure the LED is quickly double-blinking, indicating the receiver is in bind mode.
3. Ensure the RF TX module or radio transmitter enters binding status, sending a binding pulse.
4. If the receiver's light is solid, it's bound.

IMPORTANT NOTES
- Now, the firmware version of the Lite receiver, whether with tower antenna or flat antenna v1.1 manufactured by our company, is ELRS 3.3.0. The ELRS Innovative team has officially released version 3.3.0. If you want to flash the ELRS official firmware, please download the latest ExpressLRS-Configurator or refer to our manual for flashing instructions. Importantly, the TX module and receiver must be on the same ELRS version; otherwise, the frequencies cannot match successfully.
