The Spektrum DSMX Quad Race receiver provides a high speed serial data connection with up to 18 channels. It's small and lightweight providing an excellent receiver for even the smallest of applications. It also features Auto-Bind so you no longer need to carry a separate receiver to bind. Dual antennas provide receiver diversity for solid signal and the long coax antennas help to provide maximum signal strength in all orientations for challenging installations where carbon fiber, metal and batteries shield the antenna. And with Spektrum DSMX 2.4GHz RF protocol the Spektrum DSMX Quad Race receiver provides unsurpassed range and interference free performance for quad racing.

  1. Great Receiver review by Diego on 4/28/2017

Gets a little tight in my frame but very durable.

  2. Dropping Spektrum review by FPV on 12/1/2016

After having range issues moving to KISS I got this unit to A/B the range issue. No difference from regular SpekSat or knockoffs. It took 2 months to solve drop outs via KISS. (CF boards and same mount never dropped like this).

Our extensive testing and working w/KISS found that I was getting blocked by the frame mostly, a simple mouting change solved range issues. I also purchased another Spektrum DX6 for testing. About $800 in parts to debug. We got pretty serious.

We also came to understand that Spektrum sat and all tech are LoS centric and if you are pushing the limits you will be disappointed. We have a 40+ acre private flying field with ZERO EM ISSUES FTW, range is important.

I had a dropout on one bird 20ft away and a near tragic flyaway.

Also -- SUPER IMPORTANT!!!! Do not run power wires from batt parallel to diversity ants EVER! The EM on high amp draws will kill your signal. I was not able to replicate on the "regular" sats. So run power from batt away or perpendicular.

Reminder: You must have TRX on before you power up. Else you flip to bind mode, also super lame.

  3. Loooooovvvvveeeee them review by Steven on 11/23/2016

These are great recievers. Strong receiving signal. My one and only complaint is the auto bind but amazinv other wise

  4. Great Product, has some bugs though review by Dylan on 9/13/2016

This is a very small receiver, and is perfect for smaller quads. The autobind feature is really convenient, its a lot like the system on the micro blade helis.

However I did notice some problems when sandwiched next to my VTX, I was having fail safes with the quad about 50 feet from me, I soon realized it was the proximity to the VTX that was the problem. Since then I have moved the spektrum receiver about a inch away (which is the farthest my frame would let me) and hid it underneath the PDB with only the antennas sticking out. This seems to have fixed all my problems and I can now fly farther then I am comfortable with going.

My point is I don't think this receiver is as good at filtering out interference as one of its bigger counterparts. So be sure to mount it as far as you can from sources of interference, but other then that it is a very solid little receiver.

  5. Small simple rx review by Blake on 7/8/2016

I ordered this rx to put on my new qav210 build and using a dx6 remote so this is like the only single cabled reciever i could use. I am using a lux flight controller and it used to autobind to my dx6 but now everytime the spm4648 powers on it doesnt blink orange or show any signal that it is binding i dont know whether this is my lux fc or just the rx because i have seen other people have this issue as well.
